Oh to be back in those simple, carefree days prior to lockdown; when we had our eye on April 2020 for launching what was then a long-delayed core range. COVID-19 duly put a dampner on those plans, but it didn’t dissuade us from smacking a new label on our core pale ale trial. The original version of Preliminary Flex was our first dip into a beer simple enough to brew again and again, but complex enough to keep people coming back again and again. Setting ourselves a very high bar against Steady Rolling Man, which we consider the best pale ale in the country; our effort is a simple but effective hop bill of Citra and Simcoe, with just a little bit of Columbus in the whirlpool, fermented out with our bespoke LA3 strain. Back again, and better than ever – it’s good to have you back, Flex!
